Meet Josh Hensman, Business Manager for Maverick AV Solutions in Basingstoke, UK, and TD SYNNEX’s top global volunteer with an extraordinary 2,200 hours of service. Over the past 10 years, Josh has consistently balanced his professional role at TD SYNNEX with his personal mission to make a difference through volunteering.
For Josh, giving back is second nature. “The idea of helping people is something that’s important to me and something I’ve always tried to do in all aspects of my life,” he says. “So, volunteering just feels like a very natural thing for me to do.” Josh’s efforts center around his role with St. John Ambulance, a charity dedicated to saving lives and keeping communities safe by providing workplace training, first aid supplies, and ambulance services. As a volunteer manager, Josh oversees operations across parts of the UK, training others in life-saving skills and coordinating response efforts. What began as a short-term commitment has grown into a decade of service.
“I enjoy being a part of a group of like-minded people that just want to help the public, and that is why I keep doing it.”
Volunteering became especially meaningful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Josh supported front-line efforts in his community. Through those physically and emotionally challenging moments, Josh found reassurance in the importance of his volunteer work. “I played a very small part in the international effort to save lives,” Josh says. “For me, if I saved one life in the work I did, then that’s success.”
Josh’s unwavering dedication over the past decade shows the powerful ripple effect that one person can create through consistent acts of service.
