Following our FY26 Q2 earnings release, TD SYNNEX Chief Executive Officer Patrick Zammit sat down with CRN and Channel Dive to break down the results and share his look ahead for the IT ecosystem.
CRN: TD SYNNEX Chief Executive Officer Sees Growth Opportunity As Vendors Favor Global, End-to-End Distributors
Zammit discussed how TD SYNNEX is seeing strong demand across both its traditional distribution business and its Hyve business, driven by data center modernization, networking refreshes and resilient channel demand.
He said TD SYNNEX grew at roughly twice the pace of the market in its second fiscal quarter while maintaining margin quality, despite growing pressure from component-driven price increases. Zammit also pointed to TD SYNNEX’s selection as one of HPE’s global distributors as a sign that vendors are increasingly favoring distributors with global scale, specialization and end-to-end portfolios. He identified these shifts as growth opportunities for TD SYNNEX, particularly as partners look for distributors that can support broader, more complex technology outcomes.
Channel Dive: TD SYNNEX Chief Executive Officer Says Rising AI Costs Could Renew Demand for Hardware
Patrick Zammit discussed how AI adoption is reshaping technology spending, with rising token-based pricing models creating new opportunities for hardware, infrastructure and channel partners.
He stated that growing AI usage is driving higher operating costs for organizations using cloud and SaaS-based AI services, prompting more businesses to evaluate on-premises infrastructure as a way to manage expenses. Zammit described this shift as an opportunity for hardware, noting that investments in servers, storage, networking and data center infrastructure could increase as companies seek greater control over AI workloads.
He also highlighted TD SYNNEX’s proactive inventory strategy during ongoing component shortages, saying the company increased investments in PCs, servers and other hardware to help partners navigate pricing volatility and supply challenges.
