Enhanced collaboration with AWS boosts growth opportunities in the cloud marketplace economy for partners and vendors.
Sydney, Australia, 15 March 2024 – Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX Company and global Amazon Web Services (AWS) Distributor, today announced its enhanced collaboration with AWS through a designated seller of record (DSOR) agreement. This strategic move enables Tech Data to list its vendors’ products on the AWS Marketplace, with Red Hat being the first vendor to be onboarded under the new agreement.
Through this collaboration, Tech Data aims to provide channel partners with a simplified route to transacting on AWS Marketplace and drive new cloud growth opportunities for both partners and vendors. AWS Marketplace is a curated digital catalogue that makes it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy third-party software.
With Red Hat on board, partners can more seamlessly transact Red Hat solutions through the simplicity of AWS Marketplace while still benefiting from the incentives they would receive through traditional routes to market. Additionally, end users will enjoy the convenience of procuring Red Hat solutions and other vendor products directly from AWS Marketplace. Enterprise customers can also leverage their Red Hat purchases to meet their AWS spend commitments.
Commenting on the development, Nicholas Jamsek, AWS Business Unit Leader, Tech Data ANZ, said, “Global sales of third-party vendor software and services through cloud marketplaces are expected to reach US$45 billion by 20251. Given this trend, Tech Data is pleased to expand our valuable collaborations with AWS and Red Hat. By offering Red Hat solutions on AWS Marketplace, we will not only drive new growth possibilities but also provide a seamless experience for our channel partners. We look forward to remaining at the forefront of the DSOR movement and introducing more vendors to AWS Marketplace.”
Garry Gray, Senior Director and Head of Partner Ecosystem, Red Hat, ANZ, said, “Red Hat is committed to enabling our robust ecosystem of partners to position themselves where our customers are to innovatively deliver the solutions customers need to achieve their desired outcomes, in a manner that best aligns to how they want to consume these solutions. This collaboration between Red Hat, AWS and Tech Data strengthens our position as a leading open source, hybrid cloud and cloud service leader, offering greater value to partners, and customers alike, enabling customers to retire spend commitments and leverage AWS credits as part of our partner solutions via AWS.”
In addition to the DSOR agreement, Tech Data will also offer templated Red Hat bundled solutions leveraging AWS. These solutions aim to accelerate deployment and go-to-market speed and will be available for all Tech Data and AWS Partners.
