How Frank Garza is helping children and families find joy, connection and comfort through Lily’s Pad.
Frank Garza, a Program Manager based in the Gilbert, Arizona office, has spent nearly 30 years in the IT industry—including five years with TD SYNNEX. But some of the most meaningful moments in his journey have happened outside of the office through his volunteer work with Lily’s Pad, a family-run organization started by Frank’s brother-in-law.

Frank’s passion for volunteering was deeply influenced by his niece, Lily. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just three years old, Lily faced a difficult path—one that took away many of the simple joys of childhood. During that time, Frank witnessed firsthand the power of community as an outpouring of support surrounded Lily and her family.
“It opened my eyes to the importance of giving back,” Frank shared. “Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact.”
Lily’s Pad is an organization dedicated to providing immunocompromised children with a safe, clean environment where they can play, explore and simply be kids. The space also offers caregivers and parents a place to rest and connect with others facing similar challenges. For Frank, the mission is personal.
“It means everything to see children like my niece have a safe place to go,” he said. “I get to witness them getting some of their childhood magic back.”
Through his volunteer work as a play partner, Frank helps create those moments of joy. One moment, in particular, has stayed with him. During his very first experience as a play partner, he met a child who was incredibly shy and hesitant to engage. Frank made it his mission that day to help that child feel comfortable enough to have fun.
“Now, he runs around the playground like he owns the place,” Frank joked.

Moments like this continue to reinforce why Frank gives his time and what he’s gained in return. Through his commitment to giving back, Frank is helping create spaces where children and families can find connection, comfort and joy; reminding us all that even in the toughest moments, small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.
