Dana Reina is helping Girls Inc. empower young women to build confidence and explore limitless opportunities.

For 33 years, Dana Reina, Sr. Director of Advanced Solutions Cisco, has been part of the TD SYNNEX family. Inspired by her mother, an educator remembered fondly by generations of students, Dana grew up in a family that placed a high value on giving back and making an impact.

That same spirit is what led Dana to Girls Inc., an organization that empowers young women to be strong, smart, and bold. When a former leader and mentor encouraged her to get involved, Dana quickly discovered a passion for supporting girls as they discover their own passions, build confidence, and explore limitless opportunities.

At Girls Inc., Dana sees transformation happen in real time. During board meetings, she’s moved by stories from girls and parents who share how the program has helped them overcome challenges or find their path forward. “Girls Inc. provides a safe environment where they can share, make friends, and have mentorship… it reaffirms the ‘why,’” Dana says.

One program especially close to Dana’s heart is Working Women Wednesdays, where professional women share their career journeys, opening girls’ eyes to paths they might never have imagined. “Growing up, I truly had no idea what I wanted to be. I always wondered, ‘how do you figure that out?’” Dana reflects. “Being part of this program gives girls so many options and the reassurance that there are limitless opportunities.”

To further spotlight Dana and the meaningful work of Girls Inc., TD SYNNEX selected the organization as this year’s Double Play Initiative recipient in partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays. On September 15, TD SYNNEX volunteers and Rays staff joined Girls Inc. for a community day filled with mentorship, career conversations, and leadership activities. Just days later, on September 19, Girls Inc. staff and families were honored at the Rays game. This initiative is a living example of how collaboration and advocacy can uplift the next generation.

Dana believes volunteering is not only an investment in the community but also in yourself. Her journey with Girls Inc. is a powerful reminder that the greatest impact we make often comes from how we invest in others.
