In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, May’s Feel Good Friday spotlight shines on Rise’s very own Monet Huang, Director of Strategic Vendor Management, member of the Share the Magic West Steering Committee, and CRN Women of the Channel honoree. Monet truly embodies the spirit of compassion through volunteering and community advocacy, and continuously inspires those around her.
Monet’s dedication stems from gratitude and is driven by the concept of paying it forward through acts of service. “Giving back is very valuable to me. I’m definitely grateful for everything that I’ve been given in life, so I really like to live by paying it forward whenever I can,” says Monet.
This philosophy is evident in her consistent and heartfelt efforts to support various causes within Rise – from conducting mock interviews at the Community Youth Center for young adults entering the work force, to embracing cultural celebrations by volunteering at local Lunar New Year events, to addressing food insecurity in her community with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. When asked about the impact being a part of Rise has left on Monet, she shared “I’ve met so many new people… and have built stronger, better relationships. [When volunteering] you definitely feel a sense of belonging and purpose.”
As an active member of the Share the Magic West Steering Committee, Monet has also dedicated her time and efforts to planning successful fundraisers with donations benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Aubri Brown Club, which supports families who have lost a child by providing funeral, cooking and cleaning assistance. Monet recalls her first experience at an Aubri Brown Club event, where families shared their stories of loss and resilience. “It’s such a great cause to me since I have a young child… it really resonates and hits home,” she says. For Monet, experiencing that moment reinforced the importance of helping others.
Monet Huang’s story is a testament to the power of gratitude and the impact of paying it forward. Her unwavering commitment to volunteering and community support not only enriches her life but also leaves a lasting positive impact on those she helps, truly embodying the spirit of compassion at TD SYNNEX.
